A virus.... in my ear? That is causing 10 out of 10 ear pain? and I should take tylenol?
My family has always been treated very well here. The staff is great and they are constantly improving the facilities. The cafeteria is great. The most difficult thing about Sturdy is it can be a bit confusing to navigate the buildings, but there are helpful signs at the end of almost every hall.
Update: Just as quick.
I HIGHLY recommend this hospital be your last choice.
I left with nothing, but a wasted night and screaming pain, oh and a $100 bill. I learned later, after I couldn't hear for 6 days that I actually had a ruptured eardrum and an ear infection!
I have never had one good experience there. Emergency room? Minimum.. MINIMUM of 3 hours before you even see a doctor.. never mind if they actually feel like doing something.
What?! Its Friday night and people have life threatening issues, and you have one person on? That is crazy!
This is the worst hospital I have EVER been to and it is a tier 1 (the lowest tier) hospital which is determined by cost and quality. Clearly the quality is LACKING.
The doc looks in my ear and says "this sucks, its just a virus, but it looks aggravated in there you will need to let it run its course, take tylenol. "
I haven't been to a hospital since I was a child and came to Sturdy because I had a problem. I had 10 out of 10 ear pain, thought I ruptured something, to the point that I couldn't walk because my balance was off and I was crying hysterically in pain. I waited for 3 hours before I was seen by someone, this was after threatening to leave because I was literally abandoned in a hospital room, I could have sat and screamed in pain in my own bed at 3 AM. The doctor comes in and says "sorry I am the only person on".
I will now drive the additional time it takes to go elsewhere.. ANYWHERE but sturdy.
This hospital is a joke, please don't waste your time or money, just see your urgent care or Primary. If you have a true emergency, go to a Tier 3 hospital, you might pay a little more, but its worth it when you are dealing with your life.
Wife gave birth there and received excellent care. She had a C-Section and was overnight for 5 nights. The clinicians provided excellent patient care to my wife and newborn son. She received great attention from all staff, including doctors and nurses throughout her stay. The hospital was accommodating of all visitors. It was a much warmer experience than a typical large medical center where you feel like "just a number" and occupied bed.
In and out of the ER in 20 minutes. It was about 1 in the morning so that definitely made a difference.
Rude and lazy staff with no patient care. Screw this place.
My sick daughter who couldn't breathe and is only 2 was kept waiting longer than 3 hours. It's the last straw.
Because it is closest.. I continuously try sturdy as the hospital of choice.
Going back to the ER for a unrelated reason today so I will update after the visit.
