Couldn't get in for an appointment becuase they are "too busy" and booking 6 months out. Looking for another doctor. Horrible receptionist.
I have nothing to say that is bad! This has been a fantastic experience.. you know as far as having your eye worked on!! I have never waited even ten minutes for my appointment. Dr. Salter has fantastic everything. Answering questions, polite, listens. Professional. My surgery went smooth I have no hesitation recommending her...other than she might get too busy!!
I took both my parents to Dr. Fay's father when he was running the business, as seniors with glaucoma and retinal detachment issues for years. Unfortunately this office has declined in their ability to get timely appointments as the practice has exceeded it's ability to grow with its patients. My mother's case of mild eye pain, tearing and irritation over the weekend was bad enough -- but frought with frustation as I call the office first thing Monday morning (only to be told she didnt 'qualify as a current patient' and they were 'very busy' -- too busy in fact to insult my intelligence in knowing that there are always emergency slots for appointments, and nothing about coming in to be checked by a staff member to make sure there wasnt anything serious going on. Not even on a stand by basis for a possibility of a cancellation. The staff was rude at worst, indifferent at best. Recommending I call another practice in town? Unreal. Dr. Fay, you need to get a handle on your office staff. Im sure you're a wonderful surgeon. My healthcare dollars will go elsewere, as my mother's case is apparently not current enough for you. I also suggest you change the night and weekend recording, as Sturdy Memorial Hospital is very limited in it's ability to handle after hours eye emergencies. Do your patient's a favor and tell them to head to Rhode Island Hospital to the Emergency Department.
My experience over 40 years both with Dr. Peter Fay and his father has always been excellent. Very little waiting time, and thoroughly professional, medically and in all other respects. I would not hesitate recommending Dr. Fay, AOA and its staff to anyone.
